Book about Bauyrzhan Momyshuly published in Turkish

Today marks 111 years since the birth of the Hero of the Soviet Union, commander, strategist and writer Bauyrzhan Momyshuly. He was born on December 24, 1910 in Zhualyn district of the Zhambyl region. The hero’s name is revered not only in his homeland, but throughout the world. The number of works about the commander have recently been replenished with a book written in Turkish and entitled ‘Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, the fiery son of Turkistan". Its author Ashur Ozdemir is a well-known scholar, teacher and translator of the Turkish language and literature. The biographical work consists of three parts. The book provides extensive information about the Hero's family, his childhood and formative years, and the period of military service, as well as reveals his human qualities. It also includes reflections on Kazakh literature and literary translations. The presentation of the book took place in Ankara with the assistance of the Kazakh Embassy in Turkey.

“I started researching the biography of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly during the period of my master thesis defense. I have been collecting information for about two years, and it took me another year to edit and publish the book. Bauyrzhan Momyshuly was a unique person. I think the Turkish readers will be interested in learning more about him,” the author said.
