Developers of QazVac vaccine receive state prize

The Kazakh developers of coronavirus vaccine QazVac were presented with the highest award Al Farabi State Prize for Science and Technology. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Kazakh-made vaccine may soon be recognized by the World Health Organization. Such forecast was announced by the External Advisor to the Head of State, Deputy Chairperson of the Supreme Council for reforms Sir Suma Chakrabarti.

“It is necessary to change the composition of the vaccines every year, introduce new options to the market to vaccinate the population. It seems that Kazakhstan has done an enormous work. I guess, over 8 million people were inoculated. We need to keep accelerating the vaccination rate, promote this topic further. As far as I understand, the WHO will soon approve the QazVac vaccine, which will be the evidence of a good status of the Kazakh national science,” noted Sir Suma Chakrabarti, External Advisor to Kazakh President.
