Development of infrastructure of Sharyn National Park

The Sharyn Canyon will become even more attractive to tourists. In the near future, new elements of the basic tourism infrastructure will appear there. Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy nighttime views of the canyon, while rocks and hiking trails will be illuminated. Equipped observation platforms, information stands and a weather station have already been installed there.

“Our main idea is to develop tourism without harming nature. Therefore we are in partnership with Qazaq Geography. It is an association that has many experts from different fields, including geography, culture, history and science. We try to study global practice, learn from the experience we have and combine all these efforts in order to make the stay of tourists in nature safe and environmentally friendly,” said Zhanibek Alkeyev, Project Manager for Ecotourism Development.

“It is very hot in the Sharyn Canyon in summer. The air temperature here reaches plus 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. There are gazebos for the convenience of tourists. They were placed every 500 meters. Drinking water taps were installed next to them,” shared Zhassulan Makhmut, a guide.

In the near future there will also be several new pedestrian routes. So far there are only two, which run along the edge and inside the «Valley of Castles».
