Kazakh residents travel four times more often

350,000 Kazakh residents have travelled abroad since the beginning of this year, which is four times more than in 2020. Experts are sure that this figure will grow several times ahead of the New Year, because there are many people willing to visit other countries for the holidays. According to President of the country’s Association of Tour Operators Inna Rey, the most popular destinations among Kazakh citizens are the UAE, Egypt, Maldives and Thailand. Regular flights to India and Sri Lanka were resumed as well.

"Tour operators kept working during the pandemic. Owing to the “Turistik Kamkor” fund, we were able to bring our travelers to their destination and return them back to their homeland. Of course, there were many difficulties. There was a lot of work this summer. Our tourists were happy, and that is the most important thing. There are many people willing to come to our country. We keep in touch with representatives of the tourism community. We haven’t received permission from the Interdepartmental Commission yet. We hope that the situation will be resolved,” said Inna Rey, President of Kazakhstan’s Association of Tour Operators.
