Embroidered blanket, chest of drawers, Kazakh dress, tymak, as well as kamshy and dombyra. A delegation from Mangystau region donated elements for the decoration of the yurt as a gift to the museum of the Shevchenko National Reserve that has a section dedicated to Kazakhstan.

“I am in a yurt, almost in a real yurt, brought from Kazakhstan in 1989. This yurt is from the 50-60s of the last century. But the fact is that, unfortunately, we had very few exhibits of yurt equipment. Our friends from Kazakhstan helped us and brought these wonderful things, and, of course, the yurt was decorated well inside. All visitors of our museum, regardless of age, will be interested in seeing these new colors, ethnos,” said Irina Palamarchuk, staff member of the Shevchenko National Reserve.

The delegation from Kazakhstan signed a memorandum on strengthening cooperation with representatives of the Shevchenko National Reserve. The parties are set to develop partnership and actively exchange experiences, especially in the field of scientific research.

“The document provides for the promotion of Taras Shevchenko’s heritage in Mangystau region as well as contributes to the popularization of the heritage of the Kazakh people in Ukraine. I also want to emphasize that this year marks the 90th anniversary of the opening of museums in Mangystau region. First museums are in the Taras Shevchenko memorial complex in Fort-Shevchenko military-base town,” added Paniya Sarmurzina, Head of Culture Department of Mangystau Region.
