Kazakhstan to host Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions

The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions will be held in Kazakhstan. The Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of Kazakh Ministry of Information and Social Development spoke about this at a briefing. According to Yerzhan Nukezhanov, on October 6, the capital will host the 19th Secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The format will be mixed: both online and general discussions and meetings. At the same time, today Kazakhstan continues to preserve interfaith harmony, and the religious situation in the country remains calm and stable. There is mutual understanding between the represented religious denominations, associations and government agencies.

“As for human rights in the religious sphere, recently the president issued a decree on Kazakhstan’s further measures in the field of human rights. We plan to make some amendments to simplify registration of religious associations and the conduct of religious events in general,” said Yerzhan Nukezhanov, spokesperson, Kazakh Ministry of Information and Social Development.
