Kazakh artist records opera with world’s top musicians

For the first time in the history of the country's classical vocal art! Honored Figure of Kazakhstan and Astana Opera theatre’s Opera Company Director Azamat Zhyltyrkozov took part in a unique world-class project - the creation of a CD audio recording of Vincenzo Bellini's opera “The Puritans.” Kazakh singer performed together with bel canto stars - tenor Lawrence Brownlee and soprano Sarah Coburn. As foreign experts note, it was one of the strongest teams. The recording was initiated by the musical director of the New York City Opera, Constantine Orbelian.

“I sang the part of Ricardo in the recording of Vencenzo Bellini's "The Puritans." Famous American singers, European singers recorded with me. First of all, taking part in this project, I got a lot of experience and new acquaintances. I want to emphasize that for Kazakhstan it was the first time participating in such a project,” said Azamat Zhyltyrkozov, Opera Company Director, Astana Opera.
