Kazakh paralympians take off for Tokyo

Paralympians from Kazakhstan took off for Tokyo. Kazakh team, consisting of 26 people, went to the competition from Almaty. The 16th Summer Paralympic Games will take place in the capital of Japan from August 24 to September 5. Athletes will represent Kazakhstan in seven types of sports. The Kazakh Paralympians won seven swimming licenses, the same number in judo, five in powerlifting, three in taekwondo and two more in athletics. For the first time Kazakh sportspeople will take part in canoeing and bullseye shooting competitions.

“Cheer for us, we hope that we will have a lot of successful performances. The guys are motivated, energized, so I think there will be something to see. Good luck to all!” said Yerlan Suleimenov, Secretary General of the National Paralympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
