Photography exhibition of TURKSOY kicks off in Istanbul

A unique exhibition of Uzbek photo artists entitled “Khiva – Capital of the Turkic Culture” kicked off in Istanbul. It also displays unique exhibits. Each of them clearly shows the rich cultural heritage of one of the most ancient cities on the Silk Road – Khiva. This city was declared the capital of the Turkic world last year. This decision was made during the 37th meeting of the TURKSOY Permanent Council in Osh. According to the TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov, the exhibition initiated a number of other cultural events.

“Last year, Khiva was declared the capital of the Turkic world. However, we were unable to hold the event at the proper level. We plan to hold it in September. Now we are presenting the city. So to speak, we are conducting a preliminary advertisement campaign. In addition to photographs of Khiva, there are also other cities of Uzbekistan,” Kasseinov said.

The photo exposition dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Turkic countries will also be hosted in other cities of Turkey – Karaman, Nigde and Ortahisar.

“We brought a smart museum to this exhibition. This is a new modern look at history. Booklets and exhibits that we have provided will also tell about the chronicle of the Uzbek people. Various handicrafts of our craftsmen, wood items were presented as well. Thus, we want to acquaint the visitors of the exhibition with our rich history and traditions,” added Dinara Ibragimova, Representative of Uzbek Delegation.
