Kazakh Agriculture Ministry calls for assistance to drought-stricken regions

Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture calls on the citizens to help the drought-stricken regions. All employees of the ministry have already transferred a one-day salary to support farmers. The information with the account details of the fund, specially created by the governor’s office of the Mangystau region to which money can be sent, was published on the ministry’s website.

The appeal states that the government and the local executive bodies are currently working to minimize the damage. Volunteers across the country provide significant assistance. The relevant ministry calls on the employees of organizations of all forms of ownership to support and provide the possible assistance to fellow citizens who are in a difficult situation.

A large number of Kazakh residents have already responded to these calls. The population supports agricultural workers in the regions of the country. Benefactors from all over the country are mowing grass and sending hay bales to drought-affected regions. Resident of Turkistan Kurmet Talapkazy is one of them, he transports aid to Mangystau region on a personal truck. By doing this, he earned the respect of the local population. The number of such self giving enthusiasts is growing every day.

“We’re all brothers and sisters and we must help each other. I’m not trying to get gratitude, it’s not my goal, I just help. We must not remain indifferent,” Talapkazy said.

“We saw fallen animals in Mangystau region. When you live in a city, you can’t think of anything, you don’t know how to help. I believe that even if one citizen is in trouble, thousands of people must come together to help him,” noted Akyl Bibazar, resident of Almaty City.

“I saw on social media, on Facebook, on Instagram, how Kurmet was mowing the grass all by himself in order to help. I couldn’t just sit back and watch that video. So, once we got here, we started haymaking,” added Muratbek Soltanbai, resident of Taldykorgan.
