Karagandy resident dedicates his 777 km walkathon to 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence

On foot across the country - Producer and blogger Askhat Kazhytai traveled 777 kilometers from Karagandy to Ulytau. He dedicated his marathon ‘Zhayau’ to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence. The main purpose of the campaign is to tell people about the life and history of districts and villages, to popularize domestic tourism, including sacred places of Kazakh steppe, and to receive a blessing on the sacred land, Kazhytai said. He reached Ulytau on the 12th day, where he was warmly greeted by the locals. But he did not complete his journey yet, as after that he will be heading to Turkistan. This is not the first such walking trip for Kazhytai. Last year he crossed 333 kilometers from Karagandy to Aksoran Mountain. In the near future, he plans to conquer Europe as well, and also to publish a book about his journey.
