Shooting of film about Kassym Khan finishes in Kazakhstan

The shooting of a historical blockbuster about Kassym Khan has been completed in Kazakhstan. The historical and patriotic film “Uly dala tany” – “The Dawn of the Great Steppe” tells about the formation of the Kazakh statehood. The feature film directed by Akan Satayev was shot with the support of Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports. It is planned to be premiered this winter close to the Independence Day.

“We have recently completed the shooting of the “Uly dala tany”. Of course, we will do our best to make a very cool movie. We expect to release the project by December 16. After finishing the shooting, we started editing it. It’s exactly as planned,” Satayev said.

The shooting of the large-scale project started last winter and took place in Almaty region. The key characters of that time were played by eminent actors of the country – Berik Aitzhanov, Daniyar Urazaliyev, Yerik Zholzhaksynov and Aidos Abdykadyrov. The main goal of the project is to tell viewers about the times when the Kazakh Khanate was ruled by Kassym Khan. It was then, in the 16th century, that the state flourished, and the fame of its power extended far beyond its borders.
