Kids go free program to start working next year in Kazakhstan

Air travel for children is free! Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports told when the “Kids Go Free” program will start working. According to the Chairperson of the Tourism Committee Dastan Ryspekov, the new rules prescribing young Kazakh residents to be provided with the opportunity to travel around the country for free will come into force next year. Earlier, the department announced that parents will not need to pay for tickets for minors anymore when going on vacation within the country. According to the head of the relevant committee, this measure is aimed at increasing organized family recreation in the TOP-10 priority tourist zones. However, at the same time, experts of the industry emphasized that Kazakh citizens will receive such opportunities only if they purchase a tour package.

“It will not work for a weekend trip to your grandparents at the expense of the state. These are the vouchers that we purchase from the tour operator. For example, a family goes to Lake Alakol. The cost of a voucher for the whole family, including two parents and three children, is 400,000 tenge. 100,000 out of them are tickets for children. The state will pay for these 100,000,” said Dastan Ryspekov, Chairperson of the Tourism Industry Committee at Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports.
