Senate returns to Mazhilis bill on land relations

The Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament, returned the bill on land relations to the Mazhilis, the Lower House. According to the amendments, it is proposed that plots for individual afforestation should be provided only to Kazakh citizens and legal entities of the country without foreign participation. The bill provides for a complete ban on the sale and lease of agricultural land to foreign nationals. The period of withdrawal of unused territories can be reduced from two years to one. According to Kazakh Minister of Agriculture, state control is carried out over the rational use of land plots.
