Kassym-Jomart Tokayev holds meeting with UN General Assembly president

Kazakh President held a meeting with the President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, who paid an official visit to Kazakhstan. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of Abdulla Shahid’s visit from the viewpoint of further expansion of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN. The President of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly visits Kazakhstan and Central Asia for the first time. He expressed support for the large-scale reforms being implemented under the leadership of the Head of State, as well as  the referendum on introducing amendments and additions to the country’s Constitution. In addition, he recognized the Seventh Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions an important platform and highly appreciated its status. The forum is supposed to take place in the capital on September 13-15.
