Kazakhstan takes part in conference on Afghanistan

Kazakhstan regards Afghanistan as a connecting bridge between Central and South Asia, Ambassador-at-Large of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Talgat Kaliyev stated at an international conference dedicated to Afghanistan. The Kazakh diplomat also stressed the readiness of the country to further strengthen trade and humanitarian ties with Afghanistan as well as the need to develop a unified regional approach to ensure peace and stability in this country. Noting that Kazakhstan is ready to work on these issues both on bilateral and multilateral basis, Talgat Kaliyev stressed the importance of holding the Tashkent conference as an effective platform for addressing issues of ensuring regional security, protecting the rights of Afghanistan citizens, and restoring the country's economy. It is worth noting, that representatives of over 20 countries and international organizations took part in the forum.

“The representatives of the countries, directly bordering Afghanistan and locating in that region, made moderate speeches, focusing on restoring further interaction with the new Afghan government. They stressed the need to involve the country in various infrastructure projects, that is to say, to integrate Afghanistan into the region,” said Talgat Kaliyev, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
