Ministers, governors, mayors to regularly meet with population in Kazakhstan

Ministers, mayors and governors will henceforth regularly hold meetings with the population. The corresponding decree was signed by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The heads of central executive bodies, except for Defense and Foreign Ministries, must set the date and time of meetings, taking into account the people’s opinion. Their schedule will be approved by the Government by January 10 every year. In case of emergency and urgent issues, the heads of the central bodies will hold unscheduled meetings with the public. From now on, they have to cooperate with the population in social networks regularly. The document also prescribes a rule for online meetings: a report must last one quarter of time, questions and answers – the rest of the time. The government will consider the results of these meetings every six months.
