Kazakh scientists’ new invention to help fight against coronavirus

There is a way to get rid of viruses - Dias Tastanbekov, a scientist from Almaty, has invented an air purifier, which is capable of destroying DNA of COVID-19 and other dangerous viruses. The device has seven different levels of purification. Another difference is that it does not collect pollutants inside itself. The air cleaner can be used both at home and in offices. The disinfection area coverage is about the size of a small apartment.

“The first filter is the simplest one. It is a large grid for large particles such as dust and insects. The next one is called the heap filter. It can already withstand small particles. Then there’s the activated carbon layer. Next is the titanium oxide catalyst. And then there’s an ultraviolet lamp. There are also containment systems installed to keep the virus as long as possible and then expose it to ultraviolet radiation. These rays, together with the catalyst, help to turn harmful substances into harmless ones,” said Dias Tastanbekov, scientist.

The scientist has already launched the production of unique air filtration technology. The devices have soon become popular in the domestic market. In the future, Tastanbekov plans to present his invention abroad.
