New professions emerge in transportation and logistics industry

Soon the transport and logistics sector will be controlled by artificial intelligence, reports Finprom referring to experts in this industry. They estimate that automation related to the introduction of new technologies is expected in the coming years. According to the recently presented Atlas of New Professions and Competencies, 20 new professions will soon emerge in this area, nine will be transformed and 16 will disappear for good. For example, the new jobs of designers and operators of ITS (intelligent transportation system), smart logistics and so on are already in demand in the labor market. Manual maintenance will be gradually replaced by robotic maintenance. Prediction and detection of breakdowns will be performed by sensors. Professional divers will also be transformed. They will be called underwater drone operators, as this is the technology that will be used for underwater operations. However, with AI development, these professions will disappear as well. Experts estimate that this will happen in 15 years, but for now the labor market will still need such skills.
