Coronavirus cases keep decreasing in Kazakhstan

Coronavirus incidence rates in Kazakhstan continue to decrease. Over the past seven days, the number of the infected has reduced by 21 percent. Meanwhile, the number of patients undergoing treatment decreased by 12,000 in two weeks. Overall, the incidence declined more than one and a half times in May. Thus, the occupancy of beds in infectious hospitals in the country amounted to 28 percent, in intensive care units – 24 percent. Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoy spoke about the epidemic situation in Kazakhstan at a Government’s meeting. He said that the country is currently in the “yellow” zone.

“According to the world ranking, Kazakhstan is in 104th place out of 221 countries in terms of the incidence rates. Speaking of mortality rates, Kazakhstan’s position has improved by five points in the past four weeks from 107th to 112th place,” Tsoy said.
