First batch of CoronaVac vaccine arrives in Kazakhstan

Another vaccine, CoronaVac, will soon be available for Kazakh citizens. It is a vaccine developed in China. The first batch of 500,000 doses has already arrived in the Almaty airport this morning. This COVID-19 vaccine will thus become the fourth vaccine available in Kazakhstan. CoronaVac contains an inactivated antigen. The jabs should be administered two times with an interval of 14 to 28 days. The vaccine is intended for people over 18 years of age.

“This is the first batch. Before that, as you remember, there was a delivery from the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates of the Hayat-Vax vaccine, which was also produced by the Chinese technology. In Kazakhstan, we have supplies of four types of vaccines. These are the Hayat-Vax, CoronaVac, Sputnik V and our domestic QazVac vaccine,” said Zhandarbek Bekshin, Chief Sanitary Doctor of Almaty City.
