Kazakhstan to start vaccinating citizens with its own medicine QazVac from April 26

Kazakhstan will start vaccinating the population with its own medicine QazVac from April 26. The first 50,000 doses of Kazakh-made vaccine against coronavirus will be delivered to Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent and Aktobe. The next batch in the amount of another 50,000 doses will be released in May. Then the production of the vaccine will be gradually increased up to 500-600 doses per month.

“The Kazakh-made vaccine allowed our country to enter the top five countries that developed their own vaccines against the coronavirus infection. This is not only a matter of public health, but also evidence of the potential of domestic science and practical application of modern technologies in biopharmaceuticals, the prestige of the country,” said the Chair of the Interdepartmental Commission on preventing the spread of coronavirus, Kazakh Vice Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov.
