Mass COVID-19 vaccination drive continues in Kazakhstan

1.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be delivered to Kazakhstan in April. This will allow two million Kazakh residents to get vaccinated against the dangerous virus already by the end of the month, Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoy announced at a government meeting. He said that 600,000 vaccines were distributed to the regions of the country. Mass immunization campaign is carried out in 916 vaccine administration points.

Special attention is paid to the vaccination of residents of remote villages and densely populated areas. To this end, 233 travelling teams have been set up in the country. The authorities involved about 10,000 health workers in order to carry out the immunization as quickly and efficiently as possible. It is expected that by September, 10 million people will receive vaccinations on a voluntary basis.

“Our task is to stabilize the sanitary and epidemiological situation and increase the number of those vaccinated. It is necessary to strictly adhere to the vaccination schedule. We plan to provide vaccines to two million people every month: in April, as well as in May and in June. I therefore instruct the Health Ministry and the local administrations to ensure the availability of vaccinations by using public places, including shopping centers. Society must understand that only by following sanitary norms and vaccinations will it be possible to stop the spread of the pandemic and to ensure economic growth,” said Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
