Four regions of Kazakhstan remain in red zone

Four regions in Kazakhstan, including Kostanai, Akmola, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan remain in the red zone. The regions ended up there because they have the biggest numbers of coronavirus cases in the country. This data was posted today on the website of the National Center of Public Healthcare. In particular, the chief sanitary doctor of Akmola region has already published a decree on reinforcing restrictive quarantine measures. According to it, residents are prohibited from leaving their houses unless absolutely necessary.

Atyrau and East Kazakhstan regions as well as the country’s capital of Nur-Sultan continue in the yellow zone. The rest of the regions, including Almaty city, remain in the green zone, which means that the quarantine measures could be eased. It should be noted that almost 135,000 people in Kazakhstan have been infected with coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic. 1,990 patients dead.
