Kazakhstan reports 1,651 new coronavirus cases in last 24 hours
Kazakhstan reported 1,651 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Nur-Sultan accounts for the highest single-day caseload in the country. The Kazakh capital detected 370 new infections in the past day. Karagandy and Almaty follow with 191 and 185 new cases, respectively. According to Kazakh Health Ministry, since the onset of the pandemic, total COVID-19 cases in the country have passed 1,372,000. Meanwhile, over 25,000 patients continue to receive treatment for coronavirus, 1,200 of which are in hospitals. The coronavirus vaccination campaign is underway in Kazakhstan. According to the latest data, more than 10,538,000 citizens have received two doses of the vaccine. Over 5,220,000 residents got their booster shot.
