Coronavirus cases in Kazakhstan grow 2.9 times in one week

Coronavirus cases in Kazakhstan have grown almost three times over the past week. Overall, the country has been observing an increase in the number of infections since mid-June. According to the Committee of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of Kazakhstan, up to 80 percent of the infected are not vaccinated, or received vaccine more than six months ago. The Kazakh Ministry of Health informed that approximately 9.5 million people in the country have been vaccinated with two components to date. Over four million received a booster dose. It should be noted that Kazakhstan registered 330 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The highest number of 191 patients was recorded in the city of Almaty. 36 people tested positive for coronavirus in the capital. Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 1,308,000 people in Kazakhstan have been infected with coronavirus in total.
