Labs in Kazakhstan conduct over 22 million tests during pandemic

There are 184 COVID-19 PCR testing laboratories in Kazakhstan. They have done more than 22 million tests since the beginning of the pandemic. In general, in order to provide timely medical care, 16 modular hospitals were built, three infectious diseases hospitals were reconstructed, and 63 outpatient clinics were put into operation in cities in the shortest possible time. Such data are provided by Kazakh Health Ministry following the results of a two-year fight against COVID-19. The specially created Interdepartmental Commission adopted more than 2,000 rapid and rational decisions. Vaccination of the population began on February 1 last year. The Research Institute for Biological Safety Problems has developed and is producing the domestic vaccine QazVac. Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vaccines are produced at the Karaganda pharmaceutical complex. Today, the Kazakh vaccination passport is recognized in 30 countries.
