COVID-19 affects teeth and gums

People who have recovered from COVID-19 often experience problems with their teeth and oral cavity. According to the Russian dentist-therapist of the highest category Natalya Kadkalova, most often such patients come to her with stomatitis, the treatment of which takes a long time. Another problem is that the gums take a long time to heal after surgery. Instead of 5-6 days, it takes two weeks, and sometimes even more. The doctor noted that dry mouth often occurs after COVID-19. In addition, the coronavirus affects the salivary glands, potentially making a person more vulnerable to other infections.
