Kazakhstan begins producing single-dose Sputnik Light vaccine

Karaganda Pharmaceutical Complex began manufacturing the Sputnik Light vaccine. A drug developed for revaccination by Russia's Gamaleya Center was registered in Kazakhstan in mid-2021. Its efficiency is almost 79.5 percent. The first test batches of the vaccine have already been sent to Russia for quality control. KPC has earlier launched the production of Sputnik V, the first registered vaccine against COVID-19, in order to immunize Kazakh residents. Thus, seven million vaccine doses have been manufactured there since last February. In addition to the coronavirus vaccine, KPC produces highly effective drugs for cancer and rare diseases.
