Kazakhstan comes through fifth wave of coronavirus

Kazakhstan went through the fifth wave of coronavirus in just a month. It became possible because of herd immunity, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Yeraly Tugzhanov opined. According to him, it took many countries at least three months. In addition, a high percentage of vaccination helped to came through the stage of the incidence of the Omicron variant without serious consequences.

“The fact that we had our own vaccine was surprising for many countries. We were the fifth country to make it. Six countries in total have their own vaccine. I want to thank our scientists for such a great result. The vaccine is 86% effective. I think this is a very serious indicator. Today we use not only vaccination, but also booster doses. I would like to address our citizens that it is too early for us to relax. I want to warn you that there is still some growth in 35 countries today,” the Deputy PM noted.
