Situation with coronavirus in Kazakhstan remains stable

The situation with coronavirus in Kazakhstan is progressing according to an optimistic scenario. The incidence in the country has decreased by 31 percent over the past two weeks, said Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoy at the Government’s meeting. He noted that out of 222 countries, Kazakhstan takes 110th place in the global ranking of COVID-19 cases per million people, and 102nd place in mortality. Overall, according to the minister, the morbidity reduced by more than three times last month, and the number of in-patients and out-patients by 1.7 times. Thus, occupancy of infectious beds is 23 percent, in intensive care units – 20 percent. Highlighting the vaccination rate in the country, Alexey Tsoy added that over 8.8 million Kazakh residents received the first component, and 8.3 million – the second.

“To date, 188,906 people received the first component of Comirnaty Pfizer vaccine, including 150,669 adolescents and 38,237 pregnant and nursing women. 19,386 people got the second dose. The vaccination is well underway. 136,000 Kazakh citizens received a booster jab. The country registered 980,372 cases of the coronavirus infection with a positive PCR test result and 83,437 cases with a negative PCR test result. 96 percent of patients have recovered,” Tsoy said.
