Over 152,000 infection cases were registered in Kazakhstan

An unstable epidemiological situation with coronavirus remains in Kazakhstan. To date, over 152,000 infection cases were registered in the country. Akmola, Atyrau, Kostanai and Pavlodar regions report major cases. These regions are currently in the “red zone”. This was reported at a briefing by Kazakh First vice Minister of Healthcare Marat Shoranov. He said that as of December 28, the country moved from the green zone to the yellow. At the same time, experts noted a decline in the rate of more than fifty other infections in the country. Thus, people in Kazakhstan, for example, now rarely are infected with measles and salmonellosis. Cholera, plague, typhoid fever, diphtheria and many other dangerous diseases have not been recorded at all this year.

“The incidence rate of measles has decreased by 3.7 times, salmonellosis by two times and meningococcal disease by 1.8 times. The case rate by chronic viral hepatitis declined by 42 percent, tuberculosis by 22 percent and acute viral hepatitis by 9.3 percent. The country continues to vaccinate the population against infectious diseases according to the national calendar of preventive vaccinations,” emphasized Kazakh First Vice Minister of Healthcare Marat Shoranov.
