Weekend lockdown to remain in “red” and “dark red” zones of Kazakhstan

More than 46,000 people in Kazakhstan with the red and yellow health statuses have tried to get into public places through the Ashyq application since the start of the system’s work. Almost 30,000 of them had positive PCR test results for coronavirus, said Kazakh Health Minister Alexey Tsoy at the Government’s meeting. This shows that citizens infected with the dangerous virus do not comply with the home isolation regime, thereby endangering people around, the minister noted.

“I urge citizens endangering people around to demonstrate civic responsibility and not to take part in spreading the coronavirus. Despite the quarantine measures, a number of regions continue to see facts of people holding events, including weddings, funeral dinners and others with a large number of people and establishing worst violations of the quarantine. In this regard, I ask local executive bodies to reinforce the work of monitoring groups,” Tsoy said.

That’s not all. The minister offered a package of measures that will help diminish the incidence with the dangerous virus. Among them are weekend lockdown in regions in the red and dark red zones, an increase in vaccination coverage and explanatory campaigns. In addition, the criteria for work for the Ashyq leaders may soon be revised.
