Kazakhstan develops its transit potential

Overland routes through Kazakhstan have proved competitive. This year, transit traffic will exceed the strategic target of one million containers, including 700,000 in the Asia-Europe direction. According to the country’s Ministry of Trade and Integration, Kazakhstan is now among 15 officially registered World Logistics Passport hubs. These are the states that have optimized customs and logistics operations and thus helped to stimulate international trade. In addition, increasing the number of participants of the Program will enhance the transit potential of Kazakhstan, including that within the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, the relevant ministry said. Already now, the status of Kazakhstan as a trade and logistics hub in the region is growing every year. In the future, it is planned to expand cooperation with the Central Asian countries, as well as enter the Indian market.
