Kazakhstan to pay US$13,126 for travellers arriving without PCR tests

Kazakh citizens arriving from abroad without a PCR test certificate cost the state a great deal of money. Thus, in the last 24 hours alone, 793 air passengers arrived in Kazakhstan from 32 countries without valid coronavirus test certificates. More than 5.5 million tenge will be spent on their PCR tests. And this is not the only cost, given that these passengers are kept in quarantine facilities at the state’s expense while awaiting the COVID-19 test results. In many countries, travellers pay for staying in quarantine facilities and PCR tests out of their own pocket.
