Belgian farmers to visit Kazakhstan to exchange experience

Kazakhstan intends to breed the Belgian blue cows. The country’s farmers are expressing great interest in this sphere. In addition to exporting breeding material to Kazakhstan, the Belgians are ready to share their experience with domestic agricultural producers and discuss the new technologies used in cattle breeding. Corresponding agreements were reached during the visit of the Kazakh delegation to the Kingdom of Belgium.

“Our farmers need certain technologies in the cattle, meat and dairy sectors. I think we benefit a lot from such visits. We are going to continue working in this direction so that the farmers from the regions of Kazakhstan could visit the Belgian provinces. I would like to note that our Belgium partners are also planning to take part in our KazAgro agro-industrial exhibition, which will be held in October in Astana,” shared Kazakh Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg Margulan Baimukhan.

“Over a two-day period we visited farms where Belgian white-headed breeds are produced, as well as goat milk and meat processing complex. Of course, we learned about great ideas of how to adopt the technology used there. Our Belgian counterparts will arrive in Kazakhstan in early October to exchange experience in this area. If in our country cows of ordinary breeds reach a weight of only 200 kg in seven or eight months, then the cattle of the Belgian blue breed of the same age gain up to 350-400 kg,” noted Omirbek Altangadas, General Director of a livestock enterprise.
