"Central Asia - China": Third meeting of foreign ministers summed up in Nur-Sultan

Kazakhstan and China will expand settlements in national currencies, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a meeting of ministers of foreign affairs. It should be noted that the event was held within the Central Asia and China “5+1” format. The Chinese side intends to continue cooperation with Central Asian countries as part of the Belt and Road Initiative, Wang Yi assured. Moreover, he indicated that following the results of the negotiations, the parties plan to ensure safe and stable operation of the China – Europe route, facilitate customs procedures, optimize green corridors for cargo transportation, speed up the restoration of flights, as well as provide the integrity and continuity of supply chains in the region.

“In a joint statement, the Foreign Ministers of China and Central Asian states comprehensively summed up the results of the meeting and reviewed specific proposals to deepen practical collaboration in various fields. A roadmap will become a comprehensive action plan and a timetable for cooperation between China and Central Asian countries. The Chinese side will continuously deepen mutual political trust and cooperation with Central Asian partners in the interests of building a strong community,” said China’s Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi.

“We are sure that today’s meeting and its outcome will lay a solid foundation for further increase of mutually beneficial all-round cooperation within our dialogue and will contribute to the transformation of our region into a space of peace, friendship, stability, mutual assistance, sustainable growth and harmony,” said Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi said that the initiative to create the conference of ‘Central Asia – China’ foreign ministers was offered by the Chinese side in 2020. In two years, the cooperation format proved to be one of the most effective and promising ones, which help the sides to effectively achieve their goals.
