Kazakhstan becomes regional hub of halal food production

Kazakhstan is becoming a regional hub for halal products. A domestic laboratory received accreditation from the International Center of the United Arab Emirates for the right to certify such products. Now entrepreneurs from the countries of Asia, the EAEU and the CIS can use the platform to assess the compliance of their products with Islamic standards, and thus gain access to the markets of the Persian Gulf countries. Minister of Trade and Integration Bakhyt Sultanov announced this on his Facebook page. He stressed that the Kazstandard laboratory is the only one in the Eurasian Economic Union and Central Asia accredited according to international requirements. It will also allow increasing the export of Kazakh products to other regions, including Turkey and Iran. Kazakhstan intends to increase the volume of non-primary exports to US$41 billion by 2025.
