President Tokayev holds meeting with Kazakh businesspeople

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed prosecutors to prevent illegal inspections of businesses, and even more so investigations. He said this at a meeting with domestic entrepreneurs. The Head of State recalled that one should not interfere with the work of those who develop their businesses. This is a crime against the interests of the state.

“In the last five months, prosecutors have defended the rights of about 100,000 entrepreneurs, almost as many as in the whole year of 2021. These facts mean that the investigating authorities are persistently dragging the business into the orbit of criminal prosecution. The Prosecutor General's Office should ensure the strictest possible control over the prevention of illegal control and surveillance actions, and, in particular, investigations against business entities,” the Head of State said.

In his speech, President Tokayev spoke about the just rebukes of entrepreneurs regarding the constant changes and unpredictability of state policy.

“I expect a doctrinal document from the government and the Presidential Administration, which will include the main components of all economic policies, including macro, fiscal, budgetary, monetary and so on. This work should be carried out with the constructive participation of business, because only in this way can we work out truly necessary and effective reforms,” noted the president.
