Kazakhstan becomes first partner of Google for Stratups in Central Asia

Kazakhstan became the first partner country of Google for Startups in Central Asia. Astana Hub signed the agreement with the American transnational corporation, as part of which the startup accelerator was also launched for Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia. The corporation is set to provide access to unique master classes from Google experts, as well as PR support for interesting cases on its platform and social networks. Application submission kicked off today.

“Google for Startups is a separate division of Google. They launched a separate startup program in 2011. They have 50 coworking spaces and accelerator programs in 125 countries, including ours. Now we officially joined them. There is a large region on their partner map that shows only Kazakhstan. We plan to tailor the acceleration program together with them. This year, we are set to launch two cohorts, each of which has 15 startups in total. Google for Startups, for its part, will provide bonuses. For example, they provide experts, unique workshops, and also may allow using their services,” said Aigerim Zharkyn, Acting Director of the Business Programs Office, Astana Hub.
