Kazakhstan increases export of products to Turkey

Kazakhstan’s exports to Turkey more than doubled in the first three months of 2022. From January to March, Kazakhstan shipped goods worth US$1.25 billion to the brotherly nation. The main share of exports included oil and oil products. The shipment of these products increased almost three-fold. Copper, zinc, fuel oil, liquefied gas, aluminum and ferroalloys were also among the exported goods. Meanwhile, Turkey mainly supplies clothes, shoes, medicines, plastic and ferrous metal products, carpets, furniture, citrus fruits, sunflower seeds and equipment to Kazakhstan.

“Taking Turkish capital into account, we are working on 61 projects worth more than US$2 billion. More than 3,700 joint ventures with Turkish capital are operating in Kazakhstan. They work in various sectors of the economy. I think we will be able to fulfill the goal of our Presidents to increase the volume of bilateral trade in the coming years to the level of US$10 billion,” opined Yerkebulan Sapiyev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Turkey.

Recently, representatives of the two countries signed 15 agreements, including a document on expanding cooperation in the field of international cargo transportation. Kazakhstan intends to promote its products to the markets of countries located along the perimeter of international transport corridors. These are the countries around the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea, the Middle East, Europe and the Caucasus.
