EBRD forecasts economic slowdown in Kazakhstan

In 2022, Kazakhstan’s economy will grow by 2 percent, and by 2.5 percent in 2023. Such projections were made by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The international financial institution estimates that such indicators will be achieved provided that Kazakhstan maintains its current export volumes. Analysts note that the war in Ukraine is slowing down many production processes. Due to sanctions against Russia, logistics routes for Kazakhstan are becoming much more expensive. This has a negative impact not only on inflation but also on the competitiveness of many products.
