Kazakhstan set to transport up to 3 million tonnes of oil through Georgia

Kazakhstan is looking to transport two to three million tonnes of oil through the Georgian corridor in 2022. The country intends to further increase this volume. This was reported during a meeting of Kazakh President’s Special Representative Erzhan Kazykhan with Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. Moreover, the parties placed particular emphasis on the issues of trade and economic cooperation, agriculture and transport. Amongst other things, they discussed the importance of effective use of the transit potential of Georgia and South Caucasus as a whole. Over three months of 2022, the trade turnover between the countries has already totaled US$29.5 million.
