Kazakhstan’s airspace to become more attractive for airlines

Kazakhstan’s airspace will become even more attractive for air carriers, the country’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development reported. To this end, two major projects are planned to be implemented by 2025. The technology of flexible use of the sky is among them. It will reduce the congestion of main routes and crossing points, which will contribute to reducing flight time and fuel consumption. The next is the principle of free routing. It allows flying freely between certain entry and exit points. In this case, intermediate points may also be used.

In addition, a number of special air traffic management measures have been introduced to increase the flow. This is the opening of additional sectors and the simplification of issuing permits for the use of the sky for jetliners that make landings in the country, and so on.

According to the relevant ministry, these initiatives, coupled with the revision of the routes of foreign airlines due to Russia's closed skies, will increase the country's revenues by US$1.5 million per month.

Meanwhile, according to the Bureau of National Statistics, in the first two months of this year, the revenues of air carriers from cargo turnover amounted to more than one billion tenge (US$2,222), while from passenger traffic - more than 47 billion tenge (US$104.4 million).
