New oil deposits discovered in Kazakhstan

New oil deposits were discovered through further exploration at the Uzen field in Mangystau region. This work has resulted in the increase in recoverable reserves of oil to almost 40 million tonnes, the press service of the KazMunaiGas company reported. According to it, this will significantly affect economic performance. The program of detailed additional exploration of the Uzen field was initiated in 2017. A high-resolution 3D seismic survey was carried out as part of it, the entire well stock was reinterpreted, and the geological 3D model was rebuilt. At the moment, the field development project is being adjusted in order to record new reserves and their further mining.
