South Korean city of Busan intends to cooperate with Kazakhstan in various projects

Major companies in the second largest South Korean city of Busan intend to invest in projects in Kazakhstan. This became known during the first official visit of the Kazakh Ambassador to South Korea Bakyt Dyussenbayev. Investment opportunities of Kazakhstan were presented at a round table with the participation of large companies in the region. The businesspeople expressed their interest in cooperation in such areas as footwear production, logistics and petrochemicals. During the meeting, the Kazakh delegation with the city’s leadership also discussed organizational issues for the opening of the Consulate General of Kazakhstan. The corresponding decree was signed by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in August.

“We got to know Kazakhstan as the main state in Central Asia with great transit opportunities. We are engaged in logistics and we would like to invest in this field if we get a chance. After all, it is possible to send goods to Europe from Korea through the territory of Kazakhstan three times faster than by sea,” said Yang Jae Seng, President of logistics company.
