Kazakhstan turns into Eurasian transport hub, experts say

Kazakhstan is becoming the Eurasian transport hub, experts said. According to them, the country has great potential in this field. In particular, cooperation with China allows expanding transport and logistics capabilities in conjunction with The Belt and Road Initiative. During its existence, China gained access to the Eurasian markets, while Kazakhstan – an outlet to the sea. The development of the transport sector has a multiplier economic effect. This is how the number of new joint ventures is growing. Today, the countries are implementing 56 projects in the industrial sector. In addition, the states are actively exchanging the latest technologies.

“Kazakhstan has yet to learn this process, it will take some time, and a new era has opened to realize opportunities for economic development. Along with the transport sector, it will also give a boost to the development of industry, since the goods produced have access to sales markets. Agriculture and various services will be also boosted. That is, in this way, Kazakhstan is restoring its geo-economic mission as such a Eurasian hub – an intersection between different cultures, between different economies,” said Timur Shaimergenov, Deputy Director, Library of First President of Kazakhstan.
