Kazakhstan to implement large petrochemical projects

Kazakhstan will implement petrochemical projects worth US$12 billion, including the plants for the production of polypropylene, methanol, polyethylene, base oils and others. All of them are currently at different stages of development. This was announced by Kazakh Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev during his speech at the Tatarstan Oil and Gas Chemical Forum.

“We will provide all the necessary measures of state support for the successful implementation of projects in this field. The Government is currently developing a special investment agreement in the field of petrochemicals, which will contain special preferences aimed at stimulating investments in the development of this industry,” concluded Kazakh Minister of Energy. In addition, he noted the positive dynamics of development in this direction between Kazakhstan and Russia. For example, a joint project - a butadiene plant will supply its products to Europe, Turkey and China. At the same time, enterprises for the production of aromatic hydrocarbons and octane-boosting additives for gasoline are successfully operating in the country. Their products are in high demand in the domestic market and are also exported to neighboring countries such as China, Russia and Uzbekistan.
