Moody’s upgrades credit rating for Kazakhstan

Moody’s Investors Service upgraded credit rating for Kazakhstan and changed the outlook from “positive” to “stable”. According to experts, this is due to the resilience of public finances and the credit profile of Kazakhstan. Moody’s praised the effectiveness of the country’s countercyclical fiscal policy. The agency forecasted that the economy of Kazakhstan will grow by 3.5-4 percent in 2021 and by 4-4.5 percent by 2022. According to the Moody’s, economic reforms in Kazakhstan will strengthen the governance framework and increase investment attractiveness.
