Investments in agriculture grow by 1.5 times in a year

Kazakhstan has attracted almost 214 billion tenge (US$501.1 million) of investments in agriculture since the beginning of the year. This is 47.5% more than in the year-earlier period. At the same time, 99% of investments were made in crop and livestock production, finprom.kz reports. According to the data of the analytics portal, a fourth of all investments, which is over 54 billion tenge (US$126.4 million), were made in the North Kazakhstan region. A little less money, about 42 billion tenge (US$98.3 million), was invested in the Akmola region. Kostanai region closes the top three with over 26 billion tenge (US$60.8 million) of received investments. The funds in the agro-industrial complex were invested by the enterprises of the sector. Loans and non-bank loans were also attracted. Previously, the Kazakh Prime Minister stressed that over 700 billion tenge (US$1.6 billion) of investments will be made in the agricultural sector this year. The government has also increased the volume of state support for farmers to purchase agricultural machinery, mineral fertilizers and high-quality seeds.
